A brief introduction to my shuttle bus

Greetings, If you are reading this you have found my blog, congrats!  I am going to fill this space with pertinent information regarding my build out as well as some cool stories that happen along the way.  95% of the work on this build I have done myself with a little help from some good friends along the way.

The first time I heard about this shuttle bus that a mutual friend had purchased and let sit to waste I knew I had to have it.  A few short days later I awoke at 3am and towed the then immobile bus 19 miles back to a friends place via a Ford F350 dually and about 15 feet of chain.  Without power brakes, lights, heat, or power steering made for a challenging ride back in the February chill.

The bus itself is a 1999 Ford E450 Super Duty Chassis with a Goshen Coach Conversion.  From the builder it was equipped with:
Powerstroke 7.3L Diesel
4L100 Transmission
Dana 80 Dually Rear Axle (4.10 ratio)

A few short days after towing it back to the shop we had it running but not without a serious commotion coming from the #7 cylinder.   Atlas after traversing the parking lots at the airport for 203,000 miles the engine had met its demise.  It was quickly replaced with a newer, lower mileage motor with only 120,000 miles on it.

I started converting the bus shortly after we finally got it running again.  As of today the bus is fully livable and I have been living in it in stints  from May 15' until October 15' and from April 16' to the current.

As the blog goes on I will go back and do a few write ups on the systems I have built as well as the continual improvements that I have done along the way.
